Sound Blaster Zx Autoswitching (Headphones to Speakers) Problem - Page 2

Does it have a front panel connector? It doesn't look like it does. According to the website the headphone/speaker is switched only through the software. If it has a HD front panel connector then I would think that it would support the auto mode with the connector but otherwise it looks like you are stuck with using the software.

I agree. What's the problem? Takes just a few seconds to switch it by hand.

I don't think the Z allows auto switching.

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but I think I found a work-around to this auto-switching problem.
If you install the Razer surround sound drivers (they're freely available on the Razer website); - those drivers create a virtual audio device that support auto-switching between headphones and speakers. You might have to play with the settings so they play nice with the Creative software... don't wanna double up on bass enhancement perhaps (?) etc.

I have an SB ZX and it would annoy me when I was switching to-and-from headphones mid-game (can't just stop and go into Windows system tray and flick that software switch back and forth).

In any case, hope this helps.

Jel.

What are you talking about latest driver is from July 2013.

it still doesn't autoswitch nor auto detect.
