Sony actually makes a pretty decent laptop, can't see your link, but here I probably see sony's in the shop the least for repairs.

If your not looking for a the latest and greatest then Id steer away from sony , There always a lil overpriced if its just normal work usage go for an hp or gateway. The prices are more sensible and there both top of line quality.
Never get a comaq, They have horrible manufacturing and usually put in refurbished stuff.

Hp and Compaq are the same company now, and are manufactured in the same place. The place I work at is a certified HP depot and we service compaq's and hps, and order the parts from hp. Hell even if you look at the newer compaqs have the parts on them say HP.

I sell all of them and people who buy comaqs allways come back and have something to say about them. I was under the impression that Hp was the top of line when looking at them compared to the compaq.

I don't really see any more compaqs come back then hps, the most common laptop I see back here with some kind of hardware failure are actually toshiba satellites.
