GA-H61N-D2V and Celeron G1610

Anyone has this combination yet ?

I'm trying to build a cheap mini-itx build around 1155 and this mobo is by far the cheapest i can get.
But the problem is Celeron, becouse i'm not sure if mobo supports, as the processor is new and not on the supported list.

Good question. My speculation is no, not compatible based on the Gigabyte download page here. In the listed BIOS updates, it doesn't say anything about Ivy Bridge compatibility. My recommendation would be to look through the ITX H61 boards on Newegg and read the user reviews to see if people have successfully used Ivy Bridge with it. Hope that is helpful!

EDIT: I take that back. Looking at their supported CPU list here, it lists lots of Ivy Bridge chips, making me thing that the celeron would also be supported.

I think i'm gonna go with GA-H61N-USB3 (which also doesn't support it), which is slightly more expensive, but has usb3 and pci-e and could be useful down the road, if i ever wanted to put a better low profile GPU in it.

If it doesn't work, im just gonan exchange the ivy celeron for a sandy celeron part. thumb.gif

I built a G1610 rig last week and I chose the ASRock B75 mini-itx instead, because of SATA3.
