no offense
i dont care about the manufacturer, what counts is just the speed and quality of a card.
my top card is actually a 7970 4gb oced to almost 1300mhz biggrin.gif

pls read look at theese links.

To be honest if you go by those benchmarks you're not really going to notice a difference between a HD 7870 and a GTX 660TI. Once you're over 40 fps you're not going to have any lag and it'll look smooth to your eye.

At 1080P I'd go for price, if the 7950 is slightly more than a 7870 go for it, if it isn't the 7870 isn't exactly going to be sluggish at that resolution is it.

My HD 6850 can just about hold up any game at 1080P, so I can't see a 7870 having much trouble either. Over 1080P then you want to be looking at higher end cards, but for now I'd go by price.

EDIT: Even MSIs preclocked HD 7850s can match a HD 7870. So if you go for a preclocked HD 7870 you will find it can get nearer 7950 speeds for cheap.

can i overclock the XFX hd7950?
2GB would be preferred for a game on ULTRA like BF3.

You can overclock any chip, but bare in mind the higher they are preoverclocked the less headroom there is for further pushing it. A 7950 stock would do any game at ease

Top card is a 7970 4gb wow. 660ti isn't even in the same league as a 7950 if you oc it, since most 7950s are de-clocked low and have such a high oc capabilities . But hey if you need physx grab a 660 and call it a day. (Or buy a 7950 and a cheap dedicated physx card)

okay so should go for the hd 7950?
i like to overclock so the hd 7950 seems the best.

by the way i have a amd Athlon 450 3.7 GHz
will this processor keep up whit this card??

i don´t really think it will just want to be sure before i buy a new processor smile.gif

i have 8 gigs of g-skill ram clocked to 1333mhz
will i lose allot of performance of that?

and my motherboard only have pci-e 2.1

Yes, it will be a bottleneck, in that case I would get a 7770, it should be bottlenecked, then get a much better CPU and to finalize get another 7770 or a better single GPU
