Appraisal: My Sig Rig

post #1 of 13
Thread Starter
I'm looking to sell my sig rig and build a Hackintosh using tonymacX86's guide. I need to know if this stuff will cover the cost of a new build.

I should note that I externally mounted the Thermaltake Water2.0 Extreme by cutting a hole in the back of the case. It looks great and performs very well. The case is in overall good shape, no major dents or scratches.

The system has been tested stable at 4.7GHz (Prime95 for 6 hours), but at what voltage I cannot remember. It was either high 1.3X or very, very low 1.4X. I've been running it stock ever since I built it and had my fun tweaking it. The RAM also hits 2133MHz 9/10/10/29/1T at 1.4XX voltage just fine, but again, I can't remember the exact numbers since it's been stock for a long time. Most of the stuff was purchased new, with the exception of the GPU and the motherboard. The case originally did not have USB 3.0, but I purchased the official upgrade kit from SilverStone. I added a Syba Mobile Rack in the 5.25" optical bay to free up room in the crowded case for airflow, to have the ability to swap drives whenever needed without digging through cable clutter, and to add 2 more USB 3.0 ports in the front for a total of 4.

I recently moved and threw out all of the boxes for stuff, so I know that's going to put a dent in the value of the stuff. I had everything too, but a certain someone was complaining about all the valuable real estate that my boxes were taking up. mad.gif

To make life easier for you kind folks, I'm including a list of components with their Newegg links rather than having you guys copy and paste each item from my signature. thumb.gif

CPU: Intel Core i7 2600K
MB: Asus Maximus IV Gene-Z/GEN3
Cooler: Thermaltake Water2.0 Extreme
GPU: Sapphire Radeon HD 7770 GHz Edition
SSD: OCZ Agility 4 128GB
HDD: WD Green 2TB
PSU: Antec HCG-400
Case: SilverStone GD05B-USB3.0
Dock: SYBA Dual Bay Mobile Rack

I'd like an estimate for the entire system since I don't plan on splitting it up. I know I'll likely get less, but that's not an issue. I just need this stuff to cover a potential Hackintosh build.

Thanks! Will rep anyone who provides a complete appraisal!

Thanks! I know the case is an iffy thing to appraise, especially because of the modifications. I'd be happy to get $50 for the case to cover shipping and insurance for the entire rig.

Solid rig you have there. It's always difficult to move the entire thing, especially here on OCN where everyone is so into the customization aspect. If you are able to move it whole, people will usually beat you up so badly on the price that it just makes more sense to part it out. Believe it or not, parting it out would likely be faster than finding a buyer for the whole thing. And as I mentioned before, you'll definitely take less a hit to your initial investment doing it this way. We fool about in a hobby of terribly diminishing returns, unfortunately...... But I digress....

2600k = 180-200$ shipped. Doesn't seem to be anything spectacular in the OC department. Get this moved out before Haswell drops, for sure.
Mobo = 90-110$ shipped. Again, get it gone before the arrival of the new socket. That's gonna cost you ~20% extra if you wait.
cooler = 90$ shipped as long as you have all the mounting hardware originally included.
7770 = 85$ shipped.
SSD = 58$ shipped. OCZ still takes a beating here even though most of their issues have been sorted.
HDD = 80-90$ shipped.
PSU = 30$ + half shipping or 38$ shipped.
CASE = That's a pretty slick case and I think the demand would definitely be there for it. Silverstone makes some very nice stuff. I would need pictures of heavily it's modded to give a completely accurate appraisal, but I'd guesstimate around 90$ shipped.
DOCK = 28$ shipped.

For the whole shebang, add up the parts and knock off 15-20% and pray for the best. Like I said, it would behoove you to part it out. Best of luck. thumb.gif

Here are some images of the mod: I taped cardboard around the hole to prevent the tubes from being torn up. I used a wire clipper so it's not the cleanest job, but also not something that a few minutes with a file wouldn't fix.

That's not going to diminish the value at all, imo. That's a pretty cool little case. Nice rig. thumb.gif
