360 or 480 Radiator for...

Thread Starter
I there guys,

so, first of all, sorry for asking this noob question but i just wanted to make the best decision.

So, i need to buy a new radiator. I have a 360mm rad but it's damaged.

My rig is installed on a Dimas Bench not in a case and i will only use the rad for cpu cooling ( overclocked ). My doubt is, will i gain anything by using a 480mm rad instead of a 360 radiator? I will use Scythe Ultra Kaze 3000rpm in a push/pull configuration. I know that usually, 480mm isn't necessary for only one water block but ... if i'm going to spend money on a new radiator, i want to get the best cooling performance i can get. ( noise isn't a problem as you may understand from the fans tongue.gif )

Thank you
Pedro

Going from 360 to 480 for a CPU only loop imo is fairly pointless, your not going to drop temps buy much at all since a 360 is already a lot of rad space for a CPU. I'd save a few quid and stick with the 360.

I would get the 480 will let you upgrade down the road if you so choose.
If you can afford the 480 then why not. (Wanted to use two 360s on just a i7 and a 7970 lulz)
