I wouldnt waste any more money then you have to. Get the 7900gt's and Vmodd them. Its so easy its sik. Sure you could have another 256mb of RAM, but DX10 is around the corner soooo, who frikin cares. Two 7900gt KO's vmodd to 1.4 or 1.55v can easily equal 2 7900GTX's in SLi. I have not seen many GTX cards Oc'd above 700mhz on the core anyways, which is just about the limit of any G71.

For info on the Volt mod-> go to http://www.vrzone.com

Don't Sli one 8800gts or 8800gtx (based on whether you get the 7900s or 7950s so they are similar in price) will beat the be Slied cards. The Slied cards also use more electricity and generate more heat. The 7900s and 7950s also have weak stock heatsinks so if you want to do any serious overclocking or volt mods you would need to buy aftermarket cooling. Sli is generally for people who have no budget and want the max performance (for example 2 8800s in sli) or for people who already have one of the cards (which isn't even suggested really because 1 next gen card will still be faster).

1 8800 gts would be faster than two 7950gt's ? Just curious because i have two new fatality coolers that will fit a 7900 series. How much faster do you think it would be ? With my two xfx 7600gt xxx i got a best of 6629 in 3dmark 06 before my cards started artifacting and locking up.

A single 8800GTS won't beat 2x7950GTs a 8800GTX will. I would suggest if you have that kind of budget for a card that you get a 8800GTX. It will play any current game at maximum settings at insane resolutions and you won't need to worry about upgrading for quite some time.
