Is there any advantage to setting this higher? I'm wondering if to low of a setting will bottleneck multi-gpu setups...

I believe this is a setting for when you are in "basic" mode on the boinc manager and it shows little graphics of whatever work you are doing. If so, then it has no effect on crunching.

hmm, I don't know. when I look at tasks that are running on gpu, I see; (."x" cpu's + 1ATI gpu) x being the % I put in that field which tells me it is using the cpu for something.

This is determined by the project / WU you are running (unless you are using a custom app_info file). It doesn't change if you change that value does it?
