Hey Folks,
I'm getting a new rig built and the specs are as follows, any recommendations, tweaks etc welcome.[trying to keep budget closer to $2k before taxes, shipping etc.]

Biggest factors thus far is the fans, types, locations and air flow from what i've read.
Aiming for h100i to be installed at top of case, changed from H80i to be installed at rear.
Rest of case stock fans leave as is..not sure on the push/pull optimal strategy etc.

aiming for oc cpu to 4.5ghz

CoolerMster Storm Stryker
i7 3770k
z77 MSI Mpower
2 x OCZ Vector 3 240g SSD
1 x Seagate 2tb 7200 rpm HDD
Corsair H100i
Coolermaster 850w silent pro modular PSU
GEForce gtx 670 FTW 4G
Kingston Hyperx Beast 16gig DDR3 2400mhz RAM
Kingston Hyperx Ram beast cooler
NZXT Sleeved LED lighting with brightness controller 2M - Blue
LG DVD 14x BluRay writer

system will be hooked up to two 24" samsung 1920x1080p monitors, and 50 inch panasonic plasma 1080p hdtv 60hz

will eventually get another gpu and sli plus add/change monitors for ultra res etc down the road..woudl like 3d and/or 2,560x1,440 ultra rez setup
I do heaps of video capture/editing, and play bf3 cod occasionally...
work full time at home using tv as monitor during day soft dev as well etc..

best prices for whole build components is via ncix compared with tigerdirect and newegg $2450 incl taxes, shipping, 1 year warranty etc.

Couple things, you can get the Intel 335 series for a little cheaper than the Vectors. Almost $40 cheaper. So that's $80 saved if you swap the Vectors for two 335 series SSD's.

Love CoolerMaster, just wouldn't recommend their power supplies. Look into a Seasonic, Rosewill, or Silverstone instead. Plus I think 850w might be a bit overkill.

The 4GB 670 is kind of pricey, and for the money you could just get a higher quality 670 or get a 7970. Personally if I was spending that much I'd just get a 7970. If you want to stick with team green then a EVGA 670 FTW+ will do.

For the money, I just don't think 2400MHz memory is worth it. Go with the Samsung Wonder Ram (Low Volt 32nm "Green") it overclocks well, to 2133MHz pretty easily, above that requires a little tuning. Believe they got it to 2400MHz. Although, it's like around $50 for 8GB.

Ram coolers don't really do much. Not really needed.

If you plan on going 1440p in the future, you might as well go the 7950/7970 route.

Thanks.

SSD
OCZ Vertex 3 240gb sandforce series - - $159 each, the intel are $200 each[hear good things on the intel samsung ssd but they are pricier..]
I already own a 2 x OCZ Agility 4 512g which is working nicely..installed 6 months ago on older 2 x rigs win 7 64bit a and imac..no issues from either of them..the old rigs only support staa ii 3gbps though..

GPU
GTX 470 FTW 4g - $429 is the price im paying.. the 7970 are just above this range depends on manufacturer. yeah just personal thing.. if it was much cheaper i might be persuaded...
....
Yeah i own 8800gts oc 512m right now and no issues for 4 years.. had issues with ATI gpu in the past[older rigs.mostly games.]..soon upgrading this rig to gtx660ti ftw and will see how it goes..
I really wanted the gtx 680 classified but too pricey $600 imo.. almost better to just spank out for the 690 just under $1k if going that big imo..

PSU
850w for upgrading reasons, sli secondary gpu etc..down the road..
Cooler Master RS850-AMBAJ3-US Silent Pro M 850W Power Supply - ATX, Modular, 850 Watt, 80+ Bronze Certified, SLI, 135mm Ultra Silent Fan, CUL Approved

I will look at the others cheers but they may get pricey this is only $104..

RAM
Kingston hyperx RAM 16 g beast - $121 pretty cheap imo.. yeah hope to oc to 2400mhz, the cooling was more cosmetic and for more air flow on mobo to/from h100i, back fan etc..

thanks for the feedback cheers.

I think the GTX 670 4GB is a nice choice.

ive not been keeping up with SSD's but I heard good things about the current OCZ Vertex, I personally dislike the company OCZ, but thats old news.

well i just got messed around with ncix, they gave a quote on parts to match other vendors for complete system, when i decided to go thru with very big order they said that price match for certain components needed approval after official quote was provided, then after 2 day wait they said unable to price match based on manager approval, what a joke, decided to go with alternate vendor ncix - shocking customer experience.arg...
