7800GT - Extremely high memory clock

Hello everyone, I'm new to these forums. I don't know how long I'll stick around, but I've had a strange situation arise.

I just recently decided to overclock my 7800GT through the nVidia control panel. I added Coolbits...I think that's what allowed me to. Regardless, I've done this before on nTune, and was able to get up to a core of 490MHz and an effective memory of 1200 MHz. I was able to raise the memory to 1230, but the screen would get messed up, and I just didn't want to bother with it; 30MHz just isn't enough to get me to find a way around it. But now when I tried (through the nVidia control panel (+coolbits, if that makes a difference)), I was amazed at what it's done. After clicking "Manual overclocking," from being set at "No overclocking," the memory value was set at 2.14GHz. How is this possible? I was able to get it to 2.2 just a few minutes ago, and haven't tried to get it any higher since. I've got a screenshot; I don't know if this classifies it as proof or not, but let me just say, it's for real. I'm not trying to brag; quite the opposite, really. What I want is to find out if this clock is real or not. Is there any way I can check; any software I can use to look up my real memory clock, because this is unreal. By the way, for those who do not know, the stock memory clock for the 7800GT is 1GHz effective, and my temperatures are normal. Thanks in advance.

Are you using the latest drivers?

There has been a lot of problems with them, i use the 84.56 drivers, they work a treat with this card.

Its dual data rate memory so coolbits is showing the effective while nTune is showing the frequency. Some programs show the effective while others show the true frequency.

I believe I'm using 93.71 at this time, which I think is the latest. Should I use 84.56? And where can I find out, lol. Usually I can find this kind of stuff, but right now I can't. The reason I think I have 93.71 is I just recently formatted my computer and re-installed Windows, and got my drivers for my video card. I'm 99% sure it was after November the 2nd.

Hi,

The 93.71 and the 93.81 versions errroneously display the memory frequency at 2X effective.

Wait, wait... the effective is only supposed to be 1 GHz. Are you trying to say that it's showing the effective twice, ending up in +2GHz? The true frequency is supposed to be 500MHz, and the effective is supposed to be 1GHz... stock, that is.

I used a couple other apps to confirm it was just a display error at 2X effective

Here are some great Tweaked drivers. The 92.91 are really great.
