[INSIGHT] GTX 670 3-way SLi v. Radeon 79xx 3-way CFx - Page 2

In the tittle you specified 3 cards. The cpu would matter in this case. Having a better CPU would really help out the 3 cards compared to having only 1 card. What cpu do you have?

I don't care what card you buy but if yer gonna buy... you will lose perceived value on locked cards when you go to sell them.

Hmm, well just to put it into perspective, a 3960X at 4.5ghz bottlenecks 4 7970's. So while it will work fine it is defiantly not ideal.

Even the 8350 will be bottlenecked since a 3960x is bottlenecking 4x 7970s. If you are going with 3x gpus, then consider upgrading your CPU first.

Are you playing on more than one monitor? Trifire for minecraft is a huge waste of money, and 2 7970s is enough to max out BF3 on a single monitor.

Am I digging myself a hole looking to get 3 cards. Should I just get two?

I have 3 Acer s211's 21.5" 1920x1080 monitors. I'm geared more towards video editing. I understand the deal with minecraft.

I think anything over two gpus taxes the AMD chipset heinously.
