Unless you're an audiophile a separate sound card really isn't necessary now-a-days.

ASUS P9X79 PRO http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131800

windows 7 or windows 8 ?
Win 7 for desktop users, Win 8 with the Classic Shell will kinda work.

ok so you really think a sound card i don't need i have one in my old PC i don't really know what it does sounds the same as onboard audio
and yea ok i think ill just do windows 7 but wanted 8 for the future speeds and stuff i don't really know lol and i heard windows 7 is not good with SSD but windows 8 is good for them

Why a i5 3570k? If you read his first post correctly..
.
So X79 and i7 3930k would be appropriate for him. I would also stay with the COOLER MASTER Silent Pro Gold Series 800W if he decide to add another GTX 680 to his setup in the long run.

What do you think?

so do you think i should go with LGA 2011 over LGA 1155 ? i dont really understand what the difference is lol i kinda just want to get something good so i can just set it and forget it
i know LGA 2011 is future proof and its only good if i get the best CPU not the cpu3820 one
no overclocking since i know ill break my PC lol
no water cooling since that seems impossible XD
and yea that's about it lol

LGA 2011 processors have 6 physical cores, which is better suited for your work than the Hyperthreading found in LGA 1155.

LGA2011 processors(there is a quadcore LGA2011 processor: i7-3820) all have hyperthreading as well, it is the 2 extra physical core/4 extra threads that make Hexcore LGA2011(3930K/3960X/3970X) better than Quadcore LGA1155 with HT (2600K/3770K) in multithread operations.

drunken.giflachen.gif

HexaCore = 6 cores = 3930k
QuadCore = 4 cores = 3820

You can't have a Hexacore Quadcore CPU wink.gif

The i5 3570k is a 4 cores CPU with 4 Threads
The i7 3770k is a 4 Cores CPU with 8 Threads
The i7 3820 is a 4 cores CPU with 8 Threads
The i7 3930k is a 6 cores CPU with 12 Threads

I would suggest switching to a GTX 670 FTW+ or a 7970 over the 680 (just not a good value)

Don't see the point in spending $170 for a PSU that isn't even fully modular. Go with a Seasonic unit instead (will be fully modular, and probably cheaper after rebate on Newegg - SeaSonic X Series X-850 - $149 after rebate), I don't care what Johnny Guru says about supposed monopolies.

Windows 7 Home is fine, but if you ever want to add more ram you're going to have to upgrade your OS (Pro/Ultimate = more than 16GB of ram)

$149.99 for 16GB of Ram is pretty crazy. Go with Samsung Low Voltage 32nm Ram (WonderRam or "Green"). You can get 8GB for about $50 and it overclocks to 1866 or 2133MHz easily. People have even gotten it to 2400MHz with fine tuning.

The ASUS Sabertooth series boards are IMO over priced and a marketing gimmick. Go with an ASRock X79 Extreme6 for about $150 cheaper. Same overclocking abilities, and features.

Samsung Pro's are over priced also; you can get Intel 335 Series SSD's which are equally as fast for about $60 less than the 840 Pro.

If you are spending $89.99 on a cooler, go with an H80i. Less hassle with installation, and easy maintenance whenever you want to work on your computer. Also will be quieter, and will give you equal or better results compared to the NH-D14.

This extra money saved can give you enough money to pick up say, another 240GB 335 SSD and make it a dedicated games drive.
