Corsair Neutron GTX 240 vs Samsung 840 Pro 256 vs anything else

I am considering selling my 128's in RAID and going with a single 240+ SSD and was comparing these 2 SSDs. I know Samsung has the reputation for being one of the best, but I was interested in what the differences are in these 2 drives. Are there any other that should be considered?

Thanks!

speed wise you wont notice a difference even with your current drives.

differences-

Samsung 5 yr warranty, reputation for being insanely reliable, uses an updated proven controller

corsair 3 yr warranty, new player in the game so no guarantees about reliability, uses a recently created controller

i personally trust both brands and my 830 has not caused me any problems, so my advice is stick with your Crucial m4s until you encounter problems and go with the 840 pro

Also there is the OCZ vector and Plextor M5 Pro.

Along with the millions of other SSDs lol.

OCZ's older drives used to get hammered around here. I am not too concerned with small differences in speed, but I was more curious about what SSDs may be more prone to faults and such. I know Samsung is one of the better drives out there, and I have always liked Corsair's customer service, so I just listed those 2 to start.

These are the 2 drives that I've narrowed down to as well. Originally I was just going to upgrade my 64gb to a 128gb. Then I started looking at prices and instead of spending $125 or so for a good 128gb, it makes sense to step up to a 240-256gb.

I am tempted to go ahead and pick up the Sammy 840 Pro...but I wanted to stay under $200. So I'm trying to decide whether to blow the budget by $20 for the Samsung or buy the Corsair or wait a bit and see if either one comes up on sale soon.

The Samsung 840 Pro will perform a little faster than the Neutron GTX. But I got a Neutron GTX since I'm what you could call a Corsair fanboy.

I can recommend the Neutron GTX from personal experience, really fast SSD with no problems at all.

I got one SAmsung 830 and one 840 PRO, both 256GB. I can tell they are both over the top. The fact that made me buy these was clearly one:

Samsung develops and manufactures both, the memory AND the controller. No bought stuff from other manufacturers and therefore a minimum risk of "****ty" implemented firmwares or compatibility issues.

Well the Corsair went back up in price on Newegg today so right now the Samsung is in the lead. But I'm not in a huge rush so I'll watch prices for a few weeks. I think Monday is President's Day? So even though it is not a major holiday maybe something will go on sale.
