[VC] NVIDIA GeForce GTX Titan To Be Released on February 18th - Page 77

For the sake of this, I averaged the 7970 based off the above chart, it came in at 74.33~ percent, where as the Titan is 100%. So according to this Titan is only 25.67% faster than a 7970, that is weak as hell for a $900 card.

Sorry, but incorrect maths is incorrect. You do the calcs with the %'s exactly the same way you'd do it with FPS numbers.

(100 - 74.33)/74.33 = + 34% faster

Still underwhelming to those folks who thought Titan would run neck and neck with 690, but not to those of who had more realistic expectations wink.gif

And this is an example of how NOT to make your points on OCN ...

Uh....you might want to check the math...

100-74.33=25.67

By your math it would have been 108.93.....on the Titan.

Also @Newbie: I've been expecting that this thing will be around 75% of a 690 (on a game with a decent SLi profile), or about 40% faster than a 680 ... so I'm not 'disappointed' with the early bench results we're seeing wink.gif

I won't be getting one anyways though so my opinion doesn't matter much biggrin.gif

Yeah true enough, say about 35% faster than a 7970 (lets say 680 for arguments sake too because there is nothing between them regardless of this graph).

You could probably close that gap to 10% with overclocks. Overclocked Titan 75% of a 690 perhaps?

Yeah more I look at it more I think I need a high end dell before I consider this card, cost about the same anyway.

Although the graph that this information was from is only at 1200p. It also doesn't show what kind of cpu the tests were run with and MOST LIKELY the cpu was at stock settings. I feel like it could easily be a cpu bottleneck at such low resolutions with such powerful card. Get an overclocked i7 in there with a triple monitor resolution and then you can actually talk about performance increases.

So until there are triple monitor reviews I don't see anything out there saying the Titan won't be 60-75%+ more powerful than a gtx 680.
