Average CPU, slow in anything but gaming? lol you my friend have been mislead. any current gen FX cpu is fast for browsing web or gaming......dont know where you get average and slow from.

Also, I cant see spending $1100 on a gaming rig and having mediocre GPU performance. Maybe its just me but when I spend 1k I better be able to max any game, and I can. Can you? thumb.gif

Dude, all this for $90?

If it was that big of a deal he could just spend an extra $90 on a better video card. That's it.

It makes absolutely no sense to drop the 3770k for a much more underpowered processor when he can easily afford both.

If anything, you should be recommending a cheaper motherboard ($199 MSI MPower) before telling him he spent too much on the processor. C'mon, lets be logical.

And you're saying the 7870XT is mediocre? lol.. laughingsmiley.gif

Ya the reason I went with my card is it's 245$ I knew going in I wasn't even going to consider a 300$ card because sometime next year when im out of school im prolly gonna upgrade my gpu to something really nice and the benchmarks for the xt version with boost is faster than the 660ti's I didn't want A 7900 my card I was reading on here overclocks to 1200mhz with no additional cooling here are the specs but lets quit beating a dead horse its bought.

Model Brand: SAPPHIRE
Model: 100354XTL

Interface: PCI Express 3.0 x16

Chipset Manufacturer: AMD GPU
Radeon HD 7870 XT w/Boost
Core Clock: 925MHz(1200mhz after I oc it)
Boost Clock: 975MHz
Stream Processors: 1536 Stream Processors(more than any 660 ti)

Effective Memory Clock: 6000MHz
Memory Size: 2GB
Memory Interface: 256-bit(more than any 660 ti)
Memory Type: GDDR5

Also I bought certain parts I intentionally spent more money on like the cpu, ssd and mobo becasue those things I won't have to upgrade for a long time and that gpu benchmarked for all current games like bf3 it runs maxed out no problem so ya right now it runs everything and next year both our card wont max everything nature of the game. My cousin has a 5870 that can max out battlefield 3 except for minor lag so he just plays on high.

If your case can mount a rear 140mm fan, I'd look at the NZXT Kraken X40.

I hear it's really good for an all-in-one.

I like that it has rubber hoses compared to the corsair's that look like molded ridged plastic.

I checked it can take a 140mm fan.

I did to, but the specs on Newegg said "140mm converted to 120mm" so I wasn't sure.

The reason it gets better temps is because of the larger surface area of the bigger 140mm radiator.
