The FPS dropping probably has to do with VRM protection activating because your VRMs are not cooled, and are overloading from an FX 8-core. The reason that 125W TDP 8-core processors are not supported on this board is because of the lack of cooling on the VRM system and the inability to support an FX 8-core, as confirmed by GIGABYTE validation tests. The solution may be a new motherboard.

Thanks for all your help folks. I am going to try and return just the motherboard and change it for a different one.

I'll keep you posted on the results.

Well here's a thing. I put the stock cooler on and other than the fact it sounds like a Hercules on it's take off run it is working fine. I sumise that the airflow from the stock cooler must flow over a critical part of the motherboard and hence provide aditional cooling.

Anyone want to buy Freezer 7 Pro? rolleyes.gif
