Sure SSD's are faster, but I think the steps that companies like Asus and Samsung have taken (in my ultrabook for example) is providing a small SSD for hybrid cache and then a mechanical drive for storage. That way you get speed plus storage.

Well, actually, I only have 1 computer too but I barely have anything. All I have on here is about 10GB of music and 2 games (all on the 500GB hard drive. SSD is all programs).
Hybrid cache IMO isn't the best use of space but there are definitely tradeoffs. I just look for large capacity SSD's on sale. I've basically adjusted to the pricing of NAND flash these days. That's sort of bad...
