No, all Apple users are sheeple and they need to switch over to Windows because that will clearly make them happy.

I'd like to know why everyone has their entire media collection on their laptop.

Because some people only own a laptop?

For the most part, both $900 GPUs and MBPs are e-peen statement purchases more often than not. Something to brag about in OCN, or show off in Starbucks, along with a cool sticker to put on your beat-up wheels.

Rarely ppl need that kind of GPU performance. It is for saying that the X title is all-ultra and not 90% ultra 10% RUCRAZY high + FSAA x64.

Still, probably there is more utility to that over a rMBP Even more rarely they need the pros of the MBP - even the weight (I am not compering it with Sager/Clevos). The rMBP as explayed by others, is simply a FSAA mechanism - has little to do with actual content/essence or graphic quality outside clean vector shapes and fonts.

Fact is, there is an amazing number of MBPs out there, and very very few in comparison $900 cards - or even SLI/CFX $450 cards, despite the OCN crowd leaning more towares the GPU fanatics than MBP fanatics making it appear the opposite.

No you can buy a MBP 15" for that and less for a 13"

Depends on the house you live in, I don't own anything but Apple software so to switch I'd need to buy new software. I could virtualize but why? The cost of the Mac is just not that extreme especially if you buy used like I do.

I have a feeling they can't swing discrete graphics without cutting into the stellar battery life. Plus it's a chance to upsell to the 15".

Luckily Intel is putting most of their engineering effort into capable integrated graphics.

Is the 650M even enough for Video editing at that resolution?

i don't know if you can actually edit 1800p video with it. i think the idea is more that you can edit with 1080p in windowed mode, basically you can edit 1080p with no loss of resolution, while still being able to have all your visual ui elements on screen at the same time. at least that is the way i have seen it advertised
