Now I worried ...again! - Page 2

K|np|n doesn't get retail products. Just like the reviewers, they all get ES and we know that type of hardware is hand picked. Just like Coolaler.

Perhaps since that you've won that machine at an nVidia "give aways" and seeing that the C2D you have is ES, might as well be the MoBo. But as far as I know, people who went and bought that MoBo has been nothing but a terrible experience, then again it seems as if the problem only occurs when there's some overclocking involved and that's what basically is the whole point of this forum, why bother with one I say.

SLI is perhaps the most moot point ever, 6-8 months from now a better single card will come out being faster and far less expensive than two 8800 GTX in SLI. That's why I don't bother considering the SLI point when recommending a build for anyone that is trying to build a PC from the ground up.

Nasgul does have a good point, 2 8800gtx's < 1 9800gtx(???). And it would also be far cheaper. The way I look at the situation is if you need sli (bragging rights) then get the 680sli, if you not getting sli, get the p5b.

Thread Starter
thanks for all the well informed posts. I'm going to keep the motherboard as I want the ability to go sli not just with the 8800 but with 8900 and future cards. I will try this newegg bought board for a while and see how it goes. if the time comes to swap it out after say the next 2 or 3 updates and it still is not running well when OC, then I will.

Thanks again guys you rock!!
