EVGA GTX 660 SC with Asetek 760GC

Hey guys, I have a GTX660 SC in a bitfenix prodigy build, but found that after about a half hour of CS:GO (or any other game) I would find that I was getting crazy artifact glitches, found it to be heat related and figured I'd set out for a fix.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XA2DB0YwBK8 (My unboxing in case you'd like to see it)

That's when I came across Asetek's 760GC cpu and gpu combo liquid cooler.....a little leary at first until I found that it was designed to keep the gtx580 cool along a cpu. Since I was using an i5 2500k and the gtx660 should put out a good bit less heat than the 580...........BUT I had to do a little modding to get this to work so here's the pics I took along the way, they are quite self explanitory.

Now, after a full 2 days of folding my max temps at stock speed, with Corsair SP120 Performance fans with the voltage reducer to allow it to run silent (and is it ever!), are CPU 53*C and GPU at 44*C

I find this to be more than acceptable and I have never had any artifacting or glitching since biggrin.gif

That's a nice result and a really clean looking job at getting the stock unisink and fan to cool the VRMs. With the shroud back on there it looks really, really well done. You've also documented it well enough that it may help others visualize similar mods.

Since you mentioned folding, and because I know how quiet your machine will be at full load now, I thought you might be interested in the Foldathon, which you can find more info about and sign up for via the links in my signature. If this is your first foldathon and you sign up listing me as your referrer and participate in the foldathon this coming Monday you'll be eligible for a drawing and have a really good shot at winning a OCN Ducky Keyboard (like approximately a 1 in 10 shot). Let me know if you have any questions. smile.gif

Again really nice looking results and great temps. smile.gif

Hmm. I'll PM this to the editor managing the Foldathon and see if he can't get that fixed for you.

EDIT: Alright we think we've figured out the issue, the stat site won't let you sign up until you've folded at least one WU for team #37726, OCN. It didn't occur to me that you were folding for another team. So if you switch over and fold one WU it should allow you to sign up, then just continue to fold for team 37726 during the foldathon (18th-20th) and you'll be eligible for prizes.
