The U2713HM is overpriced for what it offers imo, even @ that open box price.

If you don't mind a matte screen the Auria is a great deal, and it's easy to replace if you get a bad panel (although Aurias seem to have a low defect rate compared to other discount IPS screens anyway). If you must have gloss then take the crossover.

I ordered the 2713HM over the weekend from the Dell Canada site for $630 CAD.

I considered both the Auria and the Crossover displays, but the Auria isn't available in Canada and both don't offer 30 day guarantees. I'm upgrading from a 120Hz monitor so there's a good chance that I might find the 1440p panel too slow.

People are reporting that the Auria is using the very grainy matte coating that the old 2560x1440 display used now, so I would not even consider it unless one doesn't mind possibly exchanging it a few times to get the glossy version or can guarantee that they get one.

The U2713HM is not overpriced since Dell offers the best exchange service, it has proper movie playback capabilities (24p blu ray playback capability with external blu ray players) and factory calibrated colors. Unfortunately the U2713HM's matte coating suffers from cross-hatching issues.

The Asus PB278Q is great option for users who are not sensitive to LED PWM Dimming. Memory Express Canada price matches and has a 7 day no hassle return policy. Amazon.ca is out of stock currently.

The Viewsonic VP2770 is the for gaming since it has the lowest input lag of the multi-input 1440p displays, it does not use LED PWM dimming and it comes factory calibrated too. Amazon sells it for 800$ and they have a 30 day return policy. See this thread.

The boxes without the plastic handle on top are apparently all matte (according to other posters in the Auria thread). But as someone who owns both an Auria and a U2711 (with the ultra-aggressive AG) the coating on these isn't bad.

I can vouch for Dell's warranty service being great, but imo none of those perks really make up for the $250+ extra in price. The blu-ray playback feature is extremely situational, and if you're really concerned about calibration you're not going to be using factory presets anyway.

The AG Coating on my Auria is not aggressive at all really. In fact i was able to see it next to the U2713HM in store and i'd bet 50 USD that they have the same panel.
