(on my last bios update (converted to cap file) somehow my hdd sleep setting in windows switched to immediatly and wouldnt let my SSD boot requiring a safemode start and setting change to get the SSD working again. only issue I have had in 10 or so updates)

As far as drivers you NEED (in my opinion) to go to the ASUS site and install all of the latest drivers for your board, its thier board and it needs thier drivers thumb.gif.

If you do use a usb to flash bios make sure you have a few different brands, I have had compadibility issues with cruizers in the past and it can be frustrating to figure out so if you do maybe load the file on a few different ones.

I just updated my bios to the latest. Exactly the same results in the bios, no change. And the settings i had before updating was still applied lol, so no change there.

Yeah but goddamn, how am i supposed to uninstall the chipset drivers from AMD. thats just not possible, i opened their stupid catalyst control couldnt find any chipset drivers. is it safe to just install the ASUS chipset driver?

Why not have the HDD in port 2?

Your driver is right and you are in AHCI mode.
dont worry about it, doesnt matter
Ton of factors affect that. Don't worry about it. You can run prime 95 on a single thread when benching and your results should be better.
its fine
idk

if it works then no need to think about it, if it doesnt then hopefully someone else knows.
if the image was of just the SSD it will only affect the SSD.
delete the one that shows up in my computer.
lol
yup

i didnt have HDD in port 2 because then i couldnt have it in IDE. I wanted to have it in IDE because i didnt know it'd still work in 6GB/s
i guess ill change the port of HDD from 5 to 2.

do you know what the AMD drivers here http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/windows/Pages/raid_windows.aspx does?
is it OK to only have them installed, without even touching ASUS own motherboard drivers, or should i install them too? it seems i cant find how to uninstall the amd chipset drivers if im doing this...

Thanks all of you for helping out!
EDIT: i just realized, maybe i should just let it be... i mean, it works, i can play games etc. i think i'll let it be for awhile unless there's some kind of error or crashes or BSOD

EDIT2: just installed the chipset drivers for the motherboard. apparently im underestimating the system of updating drivers. when i installed this it recognized all current drivers and just worked as a complement.

so my chipset drivers are up to date

I just update with the ones from the asus site, never removed the older ones. If the amd ones are newer it will just cancel the driver install and no harm done. have fun using your pc. biggrin.gif

Did you put the HDD on a sata port 2,3,or 4? The AHCI ones. Cause you can get a little extra performance from teh HDD.

would it matter even if all 6 ports are the same AHCI 6gb/s ?
atm it is at port 5, the SSD port 1.

I've noticed that SSD somewhat lacks performance. Not only do i get 420-480 on the tests (Seq Write drops 50MB/s compared to the picture i posted, and 4k-64thrd performs slitghtly lower), but my friend has the exact same computer as me (we bought the parts together) and he is using the exact same HDD as me. When loading in battlefield 3, we have the exact same load time now (i was slower before the SSD installation). it feels like my SSD should outperform his HDD (my HDD).
but on some other ends i notice differences if i compare to my HDD in performance... but how can his HDD be as fast as mine SSD? Why is my SSD performing 100 points below the reviewers results?

Im performing 20-25% lower than the reviewers, is this the difference between their mobo vs mine?
http://communities.intel.com/thread/23681 According to this guy, and the post of his, SSD performs slower the more data it has on it, more free space = faster performance?

EDIT: Did some more testing. Does it matter on which drive the AS SSD software is located in? For some reason, the software gets stuck in german language if i have it on C. The results you see in German = AS SSD located on C: (SSD) and the English results = AS SSD located on F: (HDD)
