Comps, you tempter! biggrin.gif Thanks so much for putting the list together. The prebuilt will run me about 100 bucks more right now and that's with Win 8 64 pro, SSD OS drive, and aux HDD. In your honest opinion and with my updating the PSU, you don't think
it is worth it? The list you made is excellent though thumb.gif

If you still honestly don't think it is worth it I will consider DIY even more

Well it really depends on what GPU you're getting with the prebuilt machine, if they are giving you all that and throwing it with a gtx650ti or something then it's kinda pointless.

If you can get me the full spec of the machine you want, I can tell you which is the better machine.

850w of PSU power is excessive though.

here's my system I am getting:

NVIDIA GeForce GT 610 1GB
3930K
CoolIT EC0 II-240 Extreme Performance Liquid Cooling 240MM Radiator & Dual Fans
120 G SAMSUN 840 Series
500G Western Digital Caviar Blue
16G (4GBx4) DDR3/1600MHz Quad Ch Kingston HyperX
GB X79-UP4
Win 8 Pro
85O Watts - Cooler Master Silent Pro M 80 Plus

the psu as I said this was the lowest I could go with and headroom doesn't hurt so... I was a bit frustrated that i couldn't get the assassin. I read and then confirmed as others have officially
that the audio on the board cant be disabled in the bios which is not good. Otherwise extremely happy with this and it give me pletny of freedom to overclock. I just have to figure out how lol
I want a simple overclock may be little over 4, no craziness, no nutty tweaks. all this was about 1530.

Hey, if you haven't ordered I'd look for the WD10EZEX 1TB as the HDD, it has a single platter thus great sequential performance. thumb.gif

Unfortunately I have already but thank you for the heads up I'll still look into it especially if I need another drive later

That graphics card is crap, I mean that is so entry level it's painful. The machine that I spec'ed you is a much more balanced machine which will outperform that rig you posted by MILES!!!!

Put it this way, that GPU can be had for around $50. It's really, really bad.

Haha Comp that's so hostile

And a little bit of an exaggeration. Your system wouldn't "out spec" this system, thats silly. the vital components are practically the same. The rest is basically branding.
The vid card I am not concerned about as i said this isn't for gaming or vid work. And that card I've worked with before and it was fantastic for me.

Not hostile, factual biggrin.gif

There is so much in the other machine that you'll never use though :-p It's just, it's just!!!! It's not RIGHT!!!!

ARRRRGGGGGHHHHH!!!!

I strive for perfection, there are just issues with that machine that I wouldn't be happy with, but if you're happy with it then yeah, I guess you'll be ok. You're just spending your money in a few wrong places (motherboard, PSU, GPU, memory)

:-)
