Overclocking problem

I have my card overclocked to 702/801 with 3d mode. In some games and also when i play a movie or video in windows media player it will switch back to 500/600. Is there anyway to keep it on 3d mode at all time no matter what?

You know that you cant overclock the X1900XTX. it cant really lock it clock very well so you should browse and search for overclocking the x1900xtx.

Well lately i've been haveing freezing issues with my computer. I leave my card in 3d mode at all times, but some applications seem to change it back to 2d settings when you open them like windows media player and a game called fear.

These both switch back to 2d after being in 3d already. Then i noticed that it was freezing because it switch from 3d to 2d, but you would think it would happen the other way around.

So why is it freezing when it switches from 3d to 2d? It never happened before when it switched modes like that. Any ideas would be appreciated.

There is a way to lock it.

You have to download the latest version of ATI Tool. In there is an option to lock 3d clocks.

Where would this be. I have the version 0.25 beta 15 and can't seem to find it.

Edit: I found out why it froze. It was because i had the ati hotkey poller on. Anyways how do you lock 3d mode?

Hi,
Glad you resolved your issue.
I still use beta .14 so I'm not sure if .15 is the same. In .14 you just check the link sliders box. In my attached screen you will see. 2D, low power 3D and 3D mode all have the same clock freqs.
Also note the freq. changes in the graph, thats where I switched between default and my linked profile so you can see it does work with .14.
Keep in mind I know folks who cannot get this function to work with either Green or Red cards. Mine is Green and it works, pretty lame when Tool does more for a Green card than a Red card. Good Luck, hope it works for you. Make sure you add the new profile and save it.

Thats weird my card is yet again freezing when i switch from 3d to 2d.

Like when i open windows media player it goes to 2d speeds and from there it freezes with a gray screen and lines going vertical. Or in fear also where i have the annoying problem of it switching back to 2d after being in 3d.

It seems any application that switches the clock speed from 3d to 2d speed freezes the computer and shows such a screen when it occurs.

Any ideas on why its doing this again?
