This is why I hate high DPI displays. :/

Even with 20/20 vision it's just dumb. :/

Cheers for pointing that out. But nvidia is definitely concerned right now with releasing such a card with poor yields.

It's not like they are rushing any cards out and people are merely drawing that conclusions by ignoring that AMD has had an architecture in the bag and being developed for quite some time that is ready to be released fairly quickly and in high yields. If anything, Nvidia has ALWAYS been either plagued with late releases over the past few generations, unable to develop an architecture that meets QA standards, and have, frankly, released a high binned card called the Titan because they couldn't manufacture enough stable chips from the beginning, if, any. The Titian is in a very limited supply for a reason (hence the pricing); the design is quite poor. At over 150% of a 7970, 140% the price of a 680, it doesn't give that huge of a performance increase for such a massive price tag.

If anything, the Titan was released as Nvidia needed something to give them a market illusion that they have the best single card solution out there and rushed it out with poor yields. Nvidia wanted some playing card such as "fastest GPU on the market" so people buy into Nvidia as opposed to buying the card itself.

He didn't say they were uncomfortable. He said he didn't think either company was uncomfortable. Either way I agree with what your saying.

Hmm, I don't really think so honestly. No reason to dress up a card like that and limit clocks while gouging price like that. Titan is just another GTX 480 that entered the market at a more comfortable time than the latter. There's no evidence of GK110 yields being worse than 1.7% lol. With a cheaper cooler, cutting off FP64 ALUs and an SMX or 2 they could counter Tahiti easily. Hell, even the 680 could have been at least $350 or $400 tops. The prices are this way because they can really.

On the other side AMD could release HD8k if they wanted as well. They want to milk HD7k and don't feel threatened by nVidia either so this happens.

What I do think that bugs nVidia is the "Never Settle" thing going on. Their response to that kind of really fails IMO...

EDIT: never mind, i just looked at the valley thread . .please do not make me explain how a synthetic benchmark will have nothing to do with gaming.

Unigine Valley 1.0 is a non-synthetic benchmark wink.gif

Not that it really matters though since it does depict gaming performance. How is Valley not synthetic?

Unigine mention it on their web site that Valley 1.0 is a non-synthetic benchmark. I cannot post links because I'm on my cell phone but go check for yourself. wink.gif

I doubt anyone will be angry for having the best single GPU for 9 months. No one expects their card to be the fastest forever.

Kinda pathetic that it's going to take AMD THAT long to have a real answer to Titan.

I wonder if it will be 35% faster than Titan, like Titan is to the GHZ edition....rolleyes.gif

If THAT happens, I will be impressed.
