How to Reduce Crosshair V Formula boot times

Thread Starter
Hi guys,

I have recently purchased a 256GB Samsung 840 Pro Series SSD, and was seeking some advice on how to reduce boot times. Am i going to run into the same long boot times as my HDD (ROG image in particular). Do i have to change some settings in the BIOS? I will be installing the SSD tonight along with my 8GB extra ram i bought smile.gif

Also as my OS was previously installed on the 1TB HDD should I install the SSD first then reinstall the old HDD back into the system. Or would I be able to install both straight away. I just didnt want to run into any boot errors since the OS will be installed on my SSD.

Some insight would be helpful, Thanks

1 Question, Do you have AHCI enabled for your SATA Devices in the UEFI/BIOS? and do you want me to take screenshots in my UEFI/BIOS to show you how to get faster boot time?

Give me 5-10 minutes and I'll get you some screenshots of my BIOS with selected settings that should make your boot up times faster.

Thanks that helped a lot. Can't wait to install the SSD tonight. I'll make sure all my settings are the same and I'll get back to you on how I go.
