As I said they probably would not need to be too strong...perhaps even the old Ion thrusters could do it, but regardless I would assume it would take very little fuel. The trouble they would need to be on all the time...or perhaps not...actually just long enough to get moving good and then you take in the sail and let momentum take you home.

I only know the wet way, so it would have to be tried and experimented and I am sure the folks with the sail here are working on it if they thought it is possible. the biggest problem I can think of is not fuel...but when I said side thrusters I really meant all directions. you'd have to have a force against all directions save the one you wanted to go. Which I think would be possible if it was tried...might just be tricky though
