This thread is very mixed up. First he wanted a $6000 PC and now we are looking into budget 500 watt PSUs. :/

$6000 isn't needed to make a beast rig thats why op has changed his mind but I wont ever suggest a 650w psu on a x79 setup. biggrin.gif

That's because these people are uninformed, so yeah on communities like Overclock.net we all try to give the best advices. smile.gif

That's why people post here, because honestly I don't think that they need to post here in the forums to know that Corsair is a good brand, instead we help them to save money aka. get same or better quality parts for less.

You're taking the case of someone with a limited budget that settles for an i3 which is not what I have spoken of, a gamer would rather take an i5 3570k if budget isn't a problem and if he doesn't want something overkill.
Well, taking this then selling it (or even keeping) to upgrade in a couple of years would get you better performance per Watt and most likely better IPC than a 3930k while being same or less (in most cases, significantly less) $$.

I heard from a corsair rep a few weeks ago and he said that the 900D wasn't going to be available for quite a few months. Where did you hear that it was just a few weeks?
