so ive been dying to hook up my new tv to my laptop and play skyrim. i dont know much about connections through the hdmi port and compatibility on the tv/laptop but below is the new tv i just bought, the new hdmi cord i just bought, and my laptop which is about a year old.

my problem is that everytime i plug my hdmi cord into my laptop yeah it works to watch youtube and stuff but when i turn on a game, white static looking streaks go across the screen for a second then it says "no connection" ive tryed everything i could with the resolutions and color mode i just cannot get it and id really like to be able to play skyrim on my tv. im getting the new msi gx60 so hopefully it works then but for now on my laptop my max resolution is 1366 x 768. the tv is a 1080p. if you need any more information post it below and ill try my best, thanks guys.
