New unigine heaven 4 crashing, but I can play games

I dont know if this is my OC on my card. I spent all last week looking for a stable OC on my MSI 660 ti PE. I thought I had found all my stable clocks because I ran unigine heaven 3 on loop for 1hr all on max. Ive also been playing lots of demanding games like FC3, BF3, Crysis 1, Crysis 2 with Maldo mod and blackfires mod and these games are also all on max settings and im not crashing. But unigine heaven 4 came out a coupe of days ago and I wanted to try it out. Once I installed it I ran it on the ultra preset and BAM it crashed at the part where it circles around the level. So should I change my OC settings just because it wont run heaven 4? But I can run heaven 3 with no problems and I can play all my games on ultra 1080p with no problems. What would you guys do? redface.gif

Honestly, it's really your choice. As far as I am concerned, if an OC does what I need it to do I don't really give a rats butt if it can "pass all the benches and stress tests" or whatever. I mean, yeah sure it isn't a 100% stable OC for every task ever all the time, but if you can perform the things you do without issue, I'd leave it. There are OC purists who will tell you otherwise, but if it suits your need I see no reason to change it.

Just my 2cents.gifthumb.gif

Thanks for the reply smile.gif I would like to be 100% stable but my current OC is really good. And like you said if it does what I need it to do then fudge it lol

Without beeing an OC purist, but there is a reason to have a stable rig^^
you might corrupt yo windows install with a unstable OC and it is a pain
in the a... installing everything from scratch, so better invest some hour more
to get ur sys stable.. from a nonOC purist biggrin.gif

6 -12 hours prime is more than enough for everything small people do at their rigs

But it plays everything I play. I can pass every benchmark except the new unigine heaven 4.

Unigine 4.0 seems to be very buggy and highly unstable when it comes to nvidia OC'ing.

You better off running on stock clocks in unigine untill a new Geforce Driver is released.

Maybe I'm just ignorant, but how exactly would a less than 100% stable GPU overclock corrupt Windows?

Also is there really anyone who doesn't reinstall more often than every year or two?

I do a clean install about every 6 months.
