Hello everybody.
When I started graduate school a few years ago I bought myself an Asus Essentio desktop. It's served me well for quite a while, and recently I upgraded the video card to a GTX570 and noticed a great improvement in performance in games (now that I'm done with grad school I have a LOT more free time
). However, I notice that sometimes I still have some chugging and whatnot in some of the games I play (MWO being one of them).
Since I bought this computer from Best Buy I have a locked motherboard. A buddy of mine told me that the new AM3+ motherboards are backwards compatible with the older AM3 CPUs. Is this correct? If so could I purchase one, slap my Phenom 1035T in it, and give OCing it a try in order to save myself a few bucks rather than buying a new motherboard AND CPU?
Any advice would be great
.
Thanks a million!
