Sapphire RMA

Thread Starter
So, my HD 7950 might be dead not sure how or what caused it to die but it won't send any signal out to my monitor. Tested it on different PCI-E lanes and nothing happened, but the fans do spin.

My question is, how is Sapphire RMA service from those who have gone through it?

It's not bad. In the US Sapphire goes through Althon micro or something like that. You email them they give you a RMA form. You then send it back, wait for approval and then send the card to them. For me it took about 1.5-2 weeks total to get my card back.

They charge you for the "service" but it was relatively hassle free. The 7970 I got back ran really hot at stock clocks and it was because they put about 1mm of thermal paste on it. They did replace my card though.

They only charge if you don't have the receipt. I was never charged.

Had to RMA a 6870 before. If you have a receipt then they will not charge you for an RMA. Turn around time for me was a little less than 2 weeks.

Thanks, good to know it won't be bad experience. I've got the invoice from where I bought it so hopefully won't be charged that fee. Guess I'll be taking a break from video games for a couple weeks lol.

wait wait wait.

This might be related to something else apart from a dead video card.
I had this problem before, but it wasnt the videocard. it was the ram that needed to be reseated. (is your system posting?)

test all your ram sticks in diffrent slots before giving up that fast.

Yeah like Xoriam has stated, you should try a few things before blaming the gpu. Try resetting the cmos and booting with only one stick of ram. If that does not work, try the other stick of ram.
