But it always irk me a bit when those ''opinions'' are 99% of the time coming from people with 0 hand-on time with those kind of set-ups. Alatar, how many Tri/Quad-Fire Tri/Quad-SLI set-ups did you try seriously, for hours, tweaking them, testing them, optimizing them? Not trying it for 2 hours, taking pics for the crowd, then returning it back at the store like Vega was doing. Remember, I was on top of the 3D Mark11 thread for 10 months with my 4X 7970 set-up. When a system is well optmized and tweaked, it's working fine, even with 4 cards. Yes, those systems exist out there, and I have one of those.
Reading something on the internet and then repeating it doesn't always make it true. I spent some serious time with both a Quad-Fire 7970 and Quad-SLI 680, and Quad 7970 was simply alot smoother and better. At 7680X1600, the 680 limited bandwidth was making them choke like crazy, while the 4 7970s were sailing nicely through everything.
And I'm really anxious to get my greedy hands on 4 Titan. But Nvidia will probably do like they always do, put 500 Titan on the market world wide, all in the hands of reviewers, 3 or 4 on Newegg, then ''not available'' for months... and win all benchmarks (remember those happy reviewers playing with those 500 Titan world wide), and sell more 680s because ''Nvidia cards are da best look at dat Titan bench dude!!!''
Ok now I'm going back playing Borderlands 2 LAN games with my 4 computers at home, all with those awful/buggy/unplayable Quad-Fire and Crossfire set-ups . Edited by Levesque - 2/16/13 at 9:56am
