The non existence of it at the same time doesn't prove it did exist, or was even a thought in their heads as well.

But it does not prove its non-existence either. This is basic logic, and its called a fallacy of affirming the consequent.

No, it absolutely refused to boot. I'd get a pop-up screen saying that a DX10 card was required to play the game. It wasn't a big issue because I was pretty much gaming exclusively on the 360 at the time, but it was sort of disappointing because I wanted to play the game.

So without going into an all out philosophical and hypothetical discussion on it, I'd say say we agree tongue.gif

I'm afraid I don't have the answer on that one, that's odd as the game definitely supported dx9 cards. Don't have the agp rig running or i'd try it out myself since my x800pro collects dust these days anyways.

Generally on this topic, I guess. Did it see the light of day? Can you likely extrapolate what the card specifications would have been, yea you can. Just because it didn't come out, doesn't mean it didn't exist. I make the point because people are pretty careless here sometimes about making statements which are baseless, and I've seen this pattern a lot on posts recently. For a supposed tech enthusiast community, basic logic rules being violated so carelessly is pretty surprising, and rather annoying.

This is a pointless discussion anyway, because it distracts from the point I was trying to make; console hardware is never current or top of the line when a console is released.

There wasn't any x750 cards ever. Not in planning (Unlike GK100), not custom, nothing. The 360 is a hybrid of technology from R520, R580 and R600.
I've provided proof: Provide proof of it being based off this mythical x750XT. (btw, there was an x700XT that was never released, maybe you meant that?)

Just admit you're making a huge assumption that every chip available from manufacturers is available to the general public. If it was a shelved GPU design, reviewers and the like wouldn't know about it, and would therefore have to make analogous references to cards which they, and the public know about.

Not really, anyone who knows ATi's naming scheme back then knows there would never, ever be an x750XT considering they never released the bloody x700XT.
Sure, we'll never know for sure...However I can say with a very educated guess that the most likely solution by far is that there wasn't an x750XT in the works.

The Xbox 360s GPU (Xenos) has 48 shaders that are unified, an x850XT Platinum Edition has them still separated into Pixel and Vertex shaders and has a much lower amount, let alone an x700Pro or x700XT.
It is, the ATi cards from that generation only support DX9.0b whereas most DX9 games are DX9.0c now, that was why nVidia won that generation despite having slightly slower cards.

I do not understand the obsession on this forum with being "right". I haven't absolutely insisted that I was right in the details of an article I read (which itself could have been wrong), I'd be crazy to since it was almost ten years ago and I can't find any articles on tech specs for the 360 that date back that far, and my language wasn't the least bit challenging or combative. Yes, it could have been the X700XT that was referenced.

- 7970GHz will be the fastest single GPU AMD will offer from GCN through entire 2013.

But most importantly: AMD is on track to release a brand new architecture that will replace GCN in Q4 2013.
Is the new architecture that will replace GCN faster than 7970 GHz?

One would hope so...thumb.gif

It's more of a revision from what I've gathered, aka GCN 2.0

It's just how forums are, it isn't specific to this one. Trying to make other people look mistaken or correcting them is entertainment for a large portion of forum-goers. It's best if you can just ignore people who argue points counter to ones you've never made, but admittedly it is difficult to leave such baiting for further discussion (not trolling) alone.

For me it's because I've been on forums for a long time and seen misinformation spread, for example user A says one thing, then later down the track user B repeats it after reading it and not knowing its false. That, plus people underestimating consoles is massive on OCN because if nothing else a lot of OCN seem to want to have a pissing contest over rig speeds and seem determined to think consoles are merely a dribble.
