What happened to my other core?

CPU-Z has been telling me that my x2 4600 is only 1 core. Just wondering, what's wrong? A screenshot is at http://valid.x86-secret.com/show_oc?id=143412

Have you installed the X2 drivers from the AMD website?

On this page...

http://www.amd.com/gb-uk/Processors/..._13118,00.html

There is the...AMD Athlon™ 64 X2 Dual Core Processor Driver for Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 Version (near the bottom of the page)

And

AMD Dual-Core Optimizer (top of the page)

That should hopefully tell windows to recognise your dual core cpu.

Also, check out this page...

http://forums.amd.com/index.php?showtopic=64936

Its instructions on how to install an AMD cpu.

Read the bit about the Dual Core Hotfix. Its another download to smooth things out with windows and dual core cpu's. Some people love it and notice changes but some have not noticed a difference at all.

Thanks for all that. I tried everything, and the only thing I can't do is update my m/b bios to version F11. (going to version F7 was ok.) What do I do now? I'm pretty sure this is the problem as only F11 was released after my CPU.
