I like that stand and the Crossover weighs around 15 pounds so well within the 33 pound limit. Thanks a lot for this idea cause i will probably pick this up. In the fall i think being able to rotate to portrait will be invaluable for school. Do you think it is tall enough for a 27 inch screen? It says in the name 10-23 inches?

Right now I'm using a Dell P2212Hb as my primary display, because the way I have my desk set up currently I sit rather close and the pixel pitch of anything bigger gives me a headache, but also because the stand it comes with is absolutely nothing short of incredible. Height, swivel, tilt, and pivot adjustable. It's so nice to be able to swing into portrait for reading forums, and into landscape for multitasking or gaming. I do have 2 19" 1280x1024 Dell LCDs that are almost perfect in size for sitting on either side in landscape, giving 3480x1024/1080 which is great for multitasking (sticking a Word document on one of thessmallerdisplay, a Spreadsheet on anoanother, and having two websites open side by side in the middle, for example). I have plenty ofoother displays, but withllimitations on desk space I have found that this works best. I don't game using the two smaller ones though.
I have been waiting for the Monoprice 27" 1440p to get back in stock, at which point I plan to purchase it as well as a 3-display mount (fully-adjustable "arm" type), and run the 27" in the middle with 2 1440x900 in portrait on either side for a very functional 4360x1440p resolution. I have been working on two laptop displays from 2 dead laptops, converting them for use as regular monitor panels. So far, so good: Literally zero bezel! I just have to find a way to give them some kind of protection...
Oh, andggood luck with school!
I really thought hard and long on some Dell Ultrasharp screens. I have friends with them and they look amazing but i really wanted a 27 inch screen and U2713HM was double my budget. Then i went to Monorpice and Tempest and both of them are out of stock for almost a month. I honestly just didn't want to wait another month for a chance to grab one before they sold out again. I could have went with a non IPS 27 screen but then i kept talking myself out of that too. I mean if i have a system that can support 1440p why settle for 1080p? I might be over thinking everything and giving myself dumb reasons to spend more money on the matter but hey.... why not? lol.
BTW... Thanks for the good luck in school. I'm gonna have such a full plate of life i don't know how i'm gonna do it. lol
