R4F not "remembering" vcore setting

Thread Starter
Overclocked my 3930k to 4.8ghz at 1.4 vcore. Stable prime 95 8 hours at 60-62*C after it settled in. Rig runs fast cool and quiet. There's one problem every so often the bios forgets my 1.4vcore and sets it to 1.33 instead (kind of). The setting is still 1.4, but the status says 1.33, all I do is retype 1.4 save and restart. If I do not retype it does not change when I save and restart. I'm using the most recent bios version unless there's one newer than 2/5/13... This is the only issue I have now. The bios that came installed on the board would not communicate with my 2nd and 3rd hard drive from a restart, but it would with cold boot. A new bios revision fixed that. Anyone have any ideas on what could be causing the odd vcore behavior?

I wasn't aware that the Asus bios bug was affecting you 3930k guys. The P8Z77 and Maximus V bios have a bug where it doesn't allow changes in bios to make it through, even though you see the change there. The solution for us is to reflash bios, not just reset CMOS but reflash bios from the downloaded file. I would try that and see if it helps. Export your profiles to a usb first since you will lose them.

Hmm I'll give that a try. Won't hurt to try I guess.

Please do, and report back if you can. I would like to know if this is related to all the BIOS issues that Ivy Bridge Asus motherboards are having.

I think I got it. I re-entered my "startup voltage" and haven't had the problem since. On a side note, the oc utility doesn't recognize my USB drive, but the bios flash tool, and boot options tab do recognize it.
