no you are wrong there, they have 750w and 1500w, and come with sleeved cables and get great reviews.

when your using that many displays, you will run out of vram, even using netflix and gaming on 3 monitors, you will need 2 cards, unless the one your looking at is like an 8Gb card. and when you have that much ram on a board, your eating up power, you would think neglectable, but its usually not.

£800 for the PC and 6 monitors seems a bit imbalanced to me. Each to their own tho.

Fair enough. As I said though, a pair of 6970 2GB cards seems to be where it's at right now.
I really do want to stick with the PSU I have chosen though, thanks, as it is very highly regarded, has awesome reviews, comes in many wattages, has a great oem, and has the best looks of any psu ive ever seen. NZXT HALE90 v2. I'll go for the 1Kw

OK. So the budget is 800 pounds, or @1250 USD. Here's what I would do for a custom-built.

you recommended 4 kits of 8gb of memory. remember though the 4 kits each have 2 sticks of memory apiece which means your counting on the board having 8 slots for memory.

Correct, it does. Most X79 boards do. PCPartPicker will also always tell you when you put in more drives than plugs, cards than expansion slots, RAM than DIMM slots, components than the PSU can handle, etc. That's why it's such a great tool.

The build I recommended is slightly over your budget, but I think you will be quite happy with it. The 3820 has multiplier control, but the 3930K is fully unlocked. 6970s are a good choice, but the MSI 670s can beat a stock 680 and they will make you very happy biggrin.gif

I'm glad you liked the build! I'm always ready to whip up a PartPicker page for any budget and anyone who asks for it.
