no it was driver problems, didnt want to do anything but sit there and inform me about drivers, and actually its better with win 8 than xp or anything else, its faster, and all they have to do is click the splash screen, type in their password, and click the top left icon in the start screen that i labeled, Email, which links them straight over to the rr.com log in page.

Surely their computer has a make and model on it so you can go to the manufactures website to download drivers for windows 7?

yeah, i guess just clean up the start screen and only give them a couple of tiles for internet, email etc

You must think that this was a custom build or something? i did go to the manufacturers website for this specific computer, and it has no drivers for windows 7, as it was not designed my the manufacturer for windows 7.

did you try vista drivers, a lot of times those work fine

What is the system?
I'm sure there's drivers for it. I don't see how Win8 would be any more compatible than Win7.

Vista would have worked, but i don't like vista one bit, i tried installing win 7 and he would prefer it, it didn't work. Copy of windows 7 was fine though

Windows 8 is running fine on here, for now. He will have no problem with it as all i have to do is teach him to click the picture when he boots up, type in his password, and click the top left icon for his email, then how to shut down. but this is at idle after startup.

Seems like alot of usage for idle, but im used to gaming computers, is this normal?
