Got the active cooling sorted: http://www.overclock.net/gallery/sho...0/ppuser/21241

Will give it a test this evening after a gaming session.

Personally I think this ram and it abilities is really based on your setup, I tried it in a DFI SLI-DR and it wouldn't run those speeds, it topped out at 259 with 3.8 volts. I've never really done a stepping scale like that, i know this ram was certified up to 3.8 volts so I always gave it a little extra juice to make it happy but i do have a couple results:

DDR400 (200 FSB) 1.5-2-2-5 lowest stable at 3.3
DDR400 (200 FSB) 2-2-2-5 lowest at 3.1
DDR478 (239 FSB) 2-2-2-5 lowest at 3.3 (current setting with 3.36)
DDR500 (250 FSB) 2-2-2-5 lowest at 3.5
DDR540 (260 FSB) 2-2-2-5 lowest at 3.6
DDR550 (275 FSB) 2-2-2-5 lowest at 3.73
DDR566 (283 FSB) 2-3-2-5 lowest at 3.87 Max I was able to reach

All memtest and OCCT stable with 1T command rate, I never tried anything with cas 2.5 as it ran weird and it wouldn't even post with cas 3, cas 1.5 ran kind weird also and wasn't stable with any voltage past 211 FSB.

EDIT: I never tried with one stick but i could even post with 2 sticks at default memory voltage. I would have to use on and get into it and crank it to 3.3 before i could get the second stick in, the SLI-DR couldnt even boot with one stick at normal voltage, i had to use 2 diferent sets of memory. Because of this I think I got some voltage happy ram but it still does everything they promised.

Thread Starter
I don't have active cooling yet, which is why I haven't tested out my BH-5 yet (they finally did get here) I don't think I'll get as good results as most people here because it's not a matched set.

As soon As I get enough money to pay my mom back for the RAM I bought it on ebay (I didn't tell her that I didn't have the money for it and I'm kind of stalling right now) I'm buying some active cooling and some heatspreaders.

This should be pretty soon, since I just sold my ps3 on ebay, and I'm just waiting for the money

Then I'll start laying on the voltage

also, If I added 2 more sticks of BH-5, how much worse would the results be? I know athlon 64s hate to have all 4 slots full, but is it worth it for the extra GB?

Thanks for the info Marshall82

SirJohnMichalot: I wouldjust use a spare case fan for the active cooling until you find a good alternative. It works very well. My modules (at speed in sys spec) only hit 48*C when doing memtest loops.

Not being matched pairs should not affect things too much since at least the have the same memory IC's only differing PCB's.

Just take it slowly and check with memtest and watch they dont get too hot.

As for 4 modules, it can be a bit hit and miss. It really depends upon the quality of the memory controller in the CPU.

Let us know how you get on

Your BH5 modules are not matched? If they are not I would return them that is a major performance it and just because they are the same IC's does not mean the same results also timings would be different between the two.

If I heard wrong disregard this...

That's very close to the truth, though timings will be the same if it's from the same batch of chips

Yeah thats about right for 3.2v. Mine hit about 225MHz at 3.2v but all modules are different.
