Nexus 4 Questions

Thread Starter
So my Nexus 4 arrived today, switching over from my S3. I have been running CM 10.1 on my S3 and flashing the nightly builds daily.

Looking through the settings on the Nexus 4 I've noticed that there are less options than with CM. Is it worth installing CM on the Nexus 4? CM runs well on my S3 but it has some hiccups occasionally and requires reboots almost daily. Are there any similar issues on the Nexus 4?

I have LTE working on the Nexus. Will this effect the battery substantially?

First off,
1) Nexus is a AOSP-supported device. All ROMs are built off of AOSP and will be stable for the Nexus 4 or any AOSP supported devices. Whereas, non-AOSP supported devices will be buggy because if a new Android version comes out they don't have all the tools to make a stable ROM. It will eventually get there, but from day one. Nope.
2) New 4.2.2 OTA came out. It removes LTE support, so stay on .33 baseband. 4.2.2 baseband removes LTE support.
3) I wouldn't flash CM10 right now. They're in the process of updating it to 4.2.2 (if you really want to use it, flash a pre-02/15 nightly)
.. Less options? how? device specific features?

and the ROM is free... its not like if u flash it you can't go back. Just give it a try.

I don't know if LTE is actually worth. I did some speed tests with it off, and I get 10-15mbps download and 1-5 mbps upload, whereas LTE is usually 10-20 Mbps upload and download. The battery drain may not be worth my time?

Ive heard of some people getting better speeds than LTE with HSPA+, obviously that strongly depends on your location, just a thought though.

I personally like the stock ROM. Stable fast and clean. Just install Custom Kernels for better battery and you are good to go.

Paranoid Android 3.0 is pretty awesome. I found it a huge improvement over CM 10. Runs Smooth and Fast with loads of customization. Its worth checking out.

+1 Paranoid, that plus Franco or Trinity kernel, as far as I am concerned you cant go wrong with that setup.
