B&m stores are useless these days, no one needs "help" with electronics. People really don't need help understanding how things work anymore.

It's not that. It's just that whenever I go there (like once a year), they bug the crap out of me by asking me if I need help finding something. It's not just that but they don't even know their products. I have went there a couple of times on purpose just to make them look silly by asking them difficult questions. biggrin.gif

It's not the employee's fault that they ask you questions since it's part of their protocol.

I normally buy my stuff online, but I love going into stores like Best Buy to check out products in person (well, the products they carry). For me, this is awesome news.

Even after I have said "I don't want any help, thanks"?

Not many people in this forum may need "help" with electronics but I work in a b&m store and get countless customers everyday who don't know left from right when it comes to electronics.

Also, not everyone, or even close to it will take advantage of the price matching at BB, simply out of ignorance to it. I mean come on, look at their majority customer base. *Unless BB is the only option around*

Does that one associate then go up to the front of the store and announce over the intercom "Attention all Best Buy employees! Capt has said that no help is needed. Please refrain from offering any assistance."

Every single one of them is paid to specifically ask each customer they see if they can offer assistance. If they're anything like other retailers, they have "secret shoppers" who rate the employees how well they follow the script.

I'm far from a fan of Best Buy, but getting enjoyment out of humiliating near-minimum-wage workers is more than a little on the mean side, don't you think?
