Ditto, and now that they will match Amazon.. well... Best Buy may honestly get my business now.

Also, not everyone, or even close to it will take advantage of the price matching at BB, simply out of ignorance to it. I mean come on, look at their majority customer base. *Unless BB is the only option around*

Exactly. Many of the people shopping in Best Buy are clueless. Some of the questions they ask and the price I see some of them pay for the crappy video cards they have in stock just makes me gringe.

Every single one of them is paid to specifically ask each customer they see if they can offer assistance. If they're anything like other retailers, they have "secret shoppers" who rate the employees how well they follow the script.

I'm far from a fan of Best Buy, but getting enjoyment out of humiliating near-minimum-wage workers is more than a little on the mean side, don't you think?

I don't care if they are paid to ask each customer for assistance. If I need help finding something, I will ask for help period. If I don't ask for help, then leave me the heck alone and stop following me around the store like I was born yesterday. I hate it when they follow you around the store and make sure you know what you are doing. I still think they should die as a company! They rip people off every day and I still remember the day when they ripped me off on an HDMI cable for 70 bucks. I still get pissed off when I think about it.

Salesmen who are lazy and just stand around get fired. There's a reason they do what they do, and its not because they like pissing you off.

If you don't like it, its easy enough not to shop there.

Really? The company should go out of business immediately, costing thousands of jobs, because you knowingly and fully of your own accord paid too much for an HDMI cable that one time, and didn't return it when you found out you overpaid?

There are a lot of things in life that are worth being upset about, but that, dear friend, is not one of them.

I just bought a $3,500 plasma open box at BB for $2,500, free delivery. When I discovered a problem with it, BB brought me a brand new one delivered to the house for free no questions asked. I was inside an extended 60 day holiday return policy.

When it comes to big ticket items, I will shop there indefinitely. You can't ask for better service than that.

Now that there's the Amazon price matching, they will get the majority of my business.

Look where those decisions have gotten them, they are closing down stores and losing millions. Why? Because their prices are over the roof and terrible management.

But don't you break even or loose more money after tax?

No. Because Newegg charges shipping and 2-5 days worth of time. Time is money. 2 days is a lot of money.

BestBuy has one of the best return/replacement policies I've ever seen. Back when I got my 5570 from them, I found a problem with it. Went back and was in and out of the store with a new card in 5 mins flat.

The entire process consisted of "got the receipt?" *looks in the box to make sure it's the right GPU* "Alright, go grab another one, i'll sign this" and I grab my new 5570, get my receipt back, and walk out the door. Done. Nothing like Fry's "sit here for 10 mins while we wait for the manager and check all the barcodes" stuff.

I honestly have no problem shopping there, it's just their limited selection means I don't go there very often.
