[theVerge] Best Buy to make internet price matching permanent to prevent 'showrooming' - Page 8

Best Buy should be burned to the ground. Hell, I'd rather see an Apple store in place of a best buy store. I don't ever remember walking out of best buy feeling happy.

Best Buy is doing it wrong. "Showrooming" is exactly what they should be transitioning to. There are certain items that you simply DON'T buy without a demostration - cars, musical instruments, audio/visual compnents, hadguns, etc.. They SHOULD set their stores up for people try things out, and then have them delivered rather than having to maintain inventory and large retail spaces at every location. Amazon can't match that sort of targeted focus.

An average experience to Best Buy should include trying out sixten different speak sets, thirty different tv's and then swiping a credit card and driving away knowing that it will all arrive via FedEx within a couple of days.

The best buy here is pretty good about this. I have saved 70 bucks with this. They had a tv mount that was 79, amazon had it for 29. I also got my G600 from them it was 79, I just told them it was 60 on amazon and they fixed it. So I do not know if they made tons of money off me, but that is two sales they would not of got if they did not have this policy.

because a greeter at best buy minimum salary should be 40k a year? ..... i think that "floor" guys should have a good salary , based on interaction with clients ( this should be the first ) and second the knowledge , because they can "learn" the stuff in the area they are asigned ...but being someone with great social skills ... well , not everyone has them lol ( its the same as car salesman , and i know they earn great money selling cars , why cant a electronics salesman ? AND i know its not the same 20k than 50$ headphones , but still , 3 dollars incentive from that sell its enough to justify the effort in the sale for the company)

... face it , those jobs are better than fast food but still at the lower end for someone without education , its not about being "cheap" , its about reality

....Alright. How much do you think a high school kid that works at Best Buy stocking shelves and guiding people to the BluRay players should make?

After taxes, medicare, and Obamacare, they might have enough left over to actually survive on.

Love this news. I have a Best Buy less than 10 minutes away. I prefer to give my money to a brick & mortar vs an amazon if the prices are comparable for the obvious reasons (local jobs and a store full of electronics I can touch). Guess I better dust off that BB rewards card I have sitting in my desk.

Yeah then they can pay to train a new employee every 3 months and take other employees away from their jobs to train them and then have even worse customer service ha ha lol.

I wouldn't bother ordering from Newegg all the time, I would just drive down to my local BestBuy to purchase new hardware.

Because of this they wont be able to operate with the overhead they have now for the long run. They'll need to downsize their workforce and/or reduce the # of stores, thus making it just like frys and microcenter.

but as I said, this is a win for consumers either way.
