Need help correctly configuring Home network

hey guys,

at the moment i have a modem/router and a router in my home.
The modem/router is a Thomson TG782T and it came with the internet connection.
The router is a tp link wdr3600 which i bought separately.

-I have the thomson connected to the internet and then from the lan outputs to the tp links wan input. The thomson has 2 PCs connected to it and they are IPs 10.0.0.xxx, and the tplink also has 2 PCs but the IPs are 192.168.0.xxx.

-Both computers on the thomson can ping each other and both computers on the tp link can ping eachother.
The tp links computers can ping the thomson computers but not vica versa.

-The thomson computers do not appear in my computer>network for the tp link PCs and same vice versa.

-I cant play games across the network.

Is this because the IP ranges are different? and if so, how can i make it so they are the same and that all computers are accessable across the entire network?

Thanks in advanced

THanks for the quick reply smile.gif

The thomson and the PCs connected to it are on one side of the house while the tp link and PCs connected to it are on the other

Hi there,

You should be able to log in to the TP-LINK and turn off DHCP. Then change the IP address of the TP-LINK Router to the next available address in the 10.0.0.x range.
Hopefully, your PC's connected to the TP-LINK should now obtain 10.0.0.x addresses from the Thomson and be able to communicate with one another.

I don't know the specifics of where these options will be for your two routers but that is how I have my home network set up.

Cheers.

Mhmm turn off DHCP on the TP-Link but set it to the same subnet mask as the 10 network but have the Router IP Address on the 10 network so you can still configure it.
