Any News for a 650D Successor?

I am in need of a new case and I have always liked the look of the Corsair 650D case. Just never got one since my old Antec P180B has served me well, but she is falling apart frown.gif The Define R4 and XL R2 have caught my eye, just haven't had much time to research them.

Anyway, my question is, Does anyone know of a possible 650D Successor coming soon? I only ask b/c I would hate to buy a 650D in the next month or 2 and be introduced to news of a new model from corsair to fill the 650D shoes.

you know what. I think I might have answered my own question. I tried searching OCN but had better luck with google search results for OCN tongue.gif CorsairGeorge doesnt go into detail but he does give me hope for something else this year. But man Computex is so far away.

Reading the first 4 posts of this page gives me hope smile.gif

There is no current news about a 650D successor, but as an owner of one, please do some research into the Fractal Design cases. I love my 650D, but there are times where this case is just too troublesome.

Problems:
-The front panel USB 3.0 doesn't have a header, you have to use an adapter. (This may have changed in future revisions; not sure.)
-The built in fan controller sucks. Mine burnt out within a month, but Corsair sent out a free replacement. (Not easy to replace by the way.)
-The included 200mm Corsair fans are loud. I replaced them both, but I had to remove the HDD cages in the front due to the new fan's thickness.

I've been looking into the Define R4 as a replacement. I see you stated that you currently own a P180B, which is a "silent" case. If that is the case, the 650D isn't what you are looking for (It's not built as a silent case). The Fractal Design cases are. I haven't heard a FD build in person, but I'm sure you can find some video reviews on YouTube. At the end of the day, you aren't doing yourself any favors by not checking out the cheaper alternatives.

Best of luck to you, man.

OH yeah I know of the front fan, and the fan controller issues. But the 650D is such a sexy case smile.gif Think that is why I am drawn to the Fractal cases as well, they have the same simple sexy look smile.gif I am researching before biting the bullet. While the P180 is a silent case it also has good air flow for cooling. That is another concern of mine thumb.gif

Edit: And dust filtration since I have a dusty house frown.gif

There's no 650D replacement coming in the next few months.

We are working on some stuff in the labs, but I can't divulge when it will be released. Might be later this year, might be next year, might even be 2015 at the outset. It's not really a "replacement", but something designed to augment our lineup. There'll be a few significantly different features, so it won't be a strict replacement, per se.
