I tested both the 3/8" x 5/8" and the 1/2" x 3/4" fittings and had no issues with just using my fingers to get them on and the tubing would be hard pressed to pop out.
Ok I'll keep that in mind. How far should I screw down the collar for reference for when I do my system flush.

Until it is finger tight. I do not ever take a wrench to any of my fittings other than Monsoon fittings. if you feel like you want to give it a tug to verify it is on there, go ahead, I doubt it will budge.

Ok thanks for your help. I'm new to custom water loops so I decided to play it safe and screw down the collar a little bit more with.

The tubing I very much doubt will be coming off now though so I guess the pay off is worth it, scratched the paint on the fittings though.

I am having the same problem and it is driving me crazy. I marked up the paint on one, so I have been careful with the others (if you put a rag under the wrench the fittings are perfect), but I have some Koolance barbs and Bitspower fittings, and the Swiftech ones suck in comparison. Also, the Koolance barbs look awesome. I kind of regret spending so much money on compression fittings.

Are there any tricks for using Swiftech fittings? I am struggling with these.

Yeah, I gave up on the Swiftech fittings for exactly the same reasons mentioned here. They just don't fit Primochill tubing. Somehow, the sizes are just off a little bit, at the very least for the 3/8-5/8 fittings. I've used Bitspower fittings, Feser fittings, and now Monsoon fittings as well. They all work, so I know I'm not crazy. I've used boiling water, tools, lube, etc, and I just can't get them to screw down over the tubing.

It's probably just a combination of the Swftech fittings being just a hair smaller than most and Primochill tubing being just a hair thicker than most that's causing problems. Either way, I'm glad I didn't invest in too much on the fittings (only 10). To bad, because the design concept is good, and the price is hard to beat.

Really? I paid $7 each for those bloody things. I could have gotten Monsoon for $35 a box, but I do not know ho many are in the box. Now the same place wants $44.

I am tempted to just go Koolance barbs everywhere. They are so EASY. it is the most simple application imaginable. I just dig it.

I had same problem with swiftech fittings and 3/8 5/8 primochill tubing, didnt use mine either, went back to bitspower fittings.

Yeah, the prices vary so widely from place to place. I can get a Swiftech fitting for 6$ within Canada, or a six-pack of Monsoon fittings for 40$ from an international vendor (so I have to pay significantly more for shipping).

Personally I'm not crazy about any Barb fittings. Sure they're easy, but I've never been crazy about the look. Good on you if you dig them though, the price is so much better with barbs!
