Replacing my monitor and need some advice.

Alright I have a GeForce GT545 1.5GB DDR3 GPU, and my cpu is an i72600 @ 3.40GHz. My current monitor is 1440x900 and games run very well, an example is BF3 at 45+ FPS or Far Cry 3 at 30+ FPS in DX9 with SSAO off.

This monitor has blurry textures when scrolling in fast moving games like an FPS or RTS, so as such I would like to buy a 1920x1080 or 1600x900 monitor. Would 1080p realy crap on my performance making a 1600x900 display the better option? Also note my current monitor is 19-Inchs and the new one will be 20-Inchs or 21.5-Inchs.
