8pin to 6 pin help

Thread Starter
Hey guys,

I plan on buying an other 6950 so i would have 2 in my system and i would like to make some cables for both because the ones that come with my psu (thermaltake tought power xt 875w) arnt long enough and i want to sleeve them.

The power supply has 4 x 8pin pci-e connectors and the graphics cards need a total of 4 x 6pin.

Does anybody know what pins goto to where? and if you can - could you make me a diagram of a 8 pin to 6 pin?

Thanks
My Precious

Honestly its as simple as removing 2 of the wires from the total cable.

Wisk posted this in another thread.

Simply draw out a wire diagram (your 6pin will have 12v on the bottom and ground on the top, however the psu side may be different due to all psu pinouts being different) to make sure you know where all the cables are and remove the two extra ground wires and then use a single 6pin pcie connector like these:
