Phenom II X4 945 running hot on aftermarket cooler. - Page 2

Thanks for the replies guys!
I have spent a long time with cable management, the case is a Thermaltake Dokker and there's little space on the back panel for cables to go back there, and I won't bother with better management until I install the GPU at this time.

I will re-seat the TIM & cooler, re-install HWMonitor and install Speedfan as well and compare results with those VS BIOS. I cannot get any new TIM besides the one that came with the fan for a few days as the local PC shops are rip-offs and MSY is in the city.
All my fans are always on highest possible speed (I have a fan controller for the extra fans, motherboard only supports 3.) as noise is not an issue.
Because of the way the SpinQ pushes out the hot air (in a 360 degree motion), cooling is a pain when it comes to intake vs exhaust, although I can't feel a lot of hot air coming out of the CPU cooler anyway. The main hot areas are the South Bridge and around the RAM.

One thing I think would greatly benefit is turn that exhaust at the top front of the case into an intake. Try to generally have the intakes on one side and exhausts on the other, depending on the case and setup. In this case, I think it's sucking out most air before it gets to the CPU and cycling back through the bottom front intake. Just my 2cents.gif , the best way to find out would be to test it.

Thats what I said realier one!, Its obvious the bottom is only drawing in dust and not near enough air, the top should be intake

After some extensive tests, I am going to blame this on the weather.
I reseated the CPU cooler with new thermal paste, to receive about 39' Celsius.

The weather here is hot, it's about 39' as it is. So I decided to test ambient room temps. 28-30'.
I then tested room temps today, as it's not so hot anymore and room temps are 18' and the CPU is sitting at 27' idle.
I have also done a lot of different fan configurations as I thought it might be the problem, to no avail.

I wouldn't blame it strictly on the weather. Your ambient room temps are roughly the same as mine, and I haven't had problems. Might be time to look towards a new cooler all together. The Cooler Master Hyper 212+ is cheap and does a good job.

$25.81 USD @ Amazon

If you have a bit more to spend, I'd lean towards the 212+ EVO

Note that is in Celsius, not Fahrenheit. 39 degrees Celsius = 102.2 degrees Fahrenheit.
I only bought the SpinQ a few months ago and I won't have enough money to chip out on more cooling for a while, I am really just considering water cooling at this point in time.

An AIO is just as good as a high end air cooler, the only exception is the Krakan X60 because its is simply the best. An AIO does bring some nice looking hardware into your case though
